  • Principal's Update - 31st January 2025

Parent Bulletin - 31st January 2025 This week we have had a number of enriching opportunities for our pupils. Our pre-school and reception pupils were treated to a visit from Jungle Jo, providing them with hands-on experience with animal handling. And for our KS4 pupils today, we held a Health Fair where students were able to speak with professionals around their own health, closely linking with themes covered in our PSHE curriculum. In addition to this, we launched our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with Year 9 pupils this week. We have already filled our 48 available places and have a small waiting list. It is wonderful see so many pupils and families value this award. While launching, we have had some queries from Year 10 pupils to ask why they can’t take part in the award. As this is our first year facilitating the award, we are limited in the number of places we can offer. Due to the timeline for this year (January launch rather than September launch), we anticipate that the expedition will take place at the start of next academic year. This would impact our current Year 10’s (who will then be in Year 11) preparations for their GCSE exams. I have been invited to be one of three guest speakers at Christchurch Clarendon Park on Tuesday 25th February, 7pm – 9pm. I am humbled to be joined by Mezmin Malida and Camille London-Myo. The theme for the evening is #AccelerateAction and is organised by the St Phillips Centre and the Methodist Church. Please see the attached information flyer for further details and booking information. IWD FLYER 2025 Before listing the ingredients and recipe below, add one last sentence that sums up your recipe. • Principal's Update - 24th January 2025

Parent Bulletin - 24th January 2025 I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Aganga-Williams for his promotion to Duke Of Edinburgh Manager. His role will assist in managing and administering the DofE Award for our school. A significant part of his role, as this is a new initiative for us, will be to launch our first Bronze Award alongside Mr Khabra next week to our Year 9 pupils. Over the next few weeks, we have our second set of primary parents evenings, Year 8 parent evening, and Year 9 options evening planned. In addition to this, Ms Kholia will be running a virtual KS3 information meeting on Tuesday 28 January (4pm-5pm) with a focus on the new KS3 reports. The PTFA held their annual general meeting (AGM) last Sunday, 19 January, however were unable to elect their committee this year due to confusion on the nomination process. The school is working with the PTFA to help resolve these concerns. Further information around an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) will be shared with our community in the next week or so. • Principal's Update - 17th January 2025

Parent Bulletin - 17th January 2025 I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms. Bach for her promotion to Associate SENDCo for the remainder of this academic year. Her role will assist in managing and administering the provision for our SEND pupils, ensuring that pupil voice is heard to promote high quality teaching and learning, and to assist the SENDCo with coordination of intervention provision. Secondly, I want to share that we have again received a positive Health and Safety report following our annual audit in December. I want to thank the premises team and all the staff involved in the audit and confirm that the school has increased our score by 6.15% to now be at 96.15%. While there are a few minor actions to address, there’s absolutely nothing of concern, and the overall outcome is outstanding. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved. Finally, I would like to encourage members of our community to attend the PTFA AGM this weekend. Since last term, we have been promoting this event towards the end of the bulletin. The AGM is this weekend at 3pm at the school. Please see link below for any further information.
